This is a set of 4 vintage Independence Stoneware by Castleton China salad plates made in Japan, featuring a rich brown glaze with a distinctive black stylized rose design. The plates are in excellent gently used condition and measure approximately 8 5/8 inches. This appears to be a particularly hard-to-find Independence Stoneware floral design, making the set ideal for vintage replacement dinnerware, MCM tableware collectors, or completing an existing service. The backstamp confirms Castleton China and Japan manufacture.
