Pour Some Sugar (and Champagne) on Your Galentine’s Party
The Galentine Hostes Guide by Emma Valentine
Nothing says “I love my ladies” like a totally fabulous, slightly over-the-top Galentine’s Day party! February 13th was officially declared a day for women to shower their gal pals with love, carbs, and possibly too much champagne.
My love for pink started when I was three, completely obsessed with the Pinkalicious books, and it’s been a vibe ever since! If anyone knows me, I’m still all about hosting the prettiest, pinkest get-togethers—especially for Galentine’s Day. I’m sharing my favorite tips to help you pull it all together effortlessly. Ready to host the Galentine’s of your dreams?
Set the Stage: Decor That Screams “We’re Fancy!”
Galentine’s Day is all about pink, red, and vibes that say “I raided the Valentine’s aisle and crushed it.” Start with a soft pink or white tablecloth because obviously, we’re classy here. Toss on a red runner or some glittery napkins for flair. Got lace doilies or vintage teacups from your grandma’s attic? Perfect. If not, no judgment – hit up your local thrift store or Amazon and fake it ‘til you make it.
For the centerpiece, grab some pink and red flowers (or the discount bouquet at Trader Joe’s – we don’t judge) and mix in some eucalyptus or baby’s breath for that effortless Pinterest Queen look. Scatter heart-shaped confetti on the table like you’re sprinkling magic. And if you’re feeling crafty, whip up some DIY heart garlands or pom-pom wall decor. It’s basically a Taylor Swift music video, but with tea.
The Menu: Bites So Cute They Deserve Their Own Instagram Post
When it comes to Galentine’s eats, keep it fancy, tiny, and ridiculously photogenic. Here’s the rundown:
- Tea Sandwiches: Tiny, crustless, and totally adorable. Stick to classics like cucumber and cream cheese or smoked salmon. Want bonus points? Use heart-shaped cookie cutters because nothing says “extra” like sandwich art.
- Scones & Pastries: Scones are non-negotiable. Load them up with clotted cream, berry jam, or go wild with strawberry scones for that pop of pink. Add mini eclairs, macarons, or red velvet cupcakes because dessert isn’t just an option – it’s the whole vibe.
- Fresh Fruit Platter: Grab strawberries, raspberries, and watermelon, then cut them into hearts like the overachiever you are. Not only does it look cute, but it’s also practically health food, right?
Struggling with the menu or wanting to host more of a dinner check out my favorite cookbooks.
- “Emily in Paris” Official Cookbook – Kick up the vibe to Paris my friends!
- "Whiskey in a Tea Cup" by Reese Witherspoon – I’m a southern girl at heart!
- "Cravings" by Chrissy Teigen – Well Chrissy is cool with those new eyebrows!

Sip, Sip, Hooray! Tea, Bubbly, and Mocktails
For drinks, let’s keep it versatile. Classic teas like Earl Grey and English Breakfast are a must, but toss in some fruity options like hibiscus or rosehip to keep it interesting.
Feeling extra? Serve a pink mocktail or start the party with champagne. Toast to friendship with bubbles – because hydration is important, but so is sparkle!!

Invites: Set the Tone, Sass Included
A Galentine’s party starts with the perfect invite. Digital works great – whip up a cute design on Canva or Evite. Use phrases like, “Let’s spill the tea, literally!” or “BYO fabulousness for a tea party you’ll never forget.”
If you’re a fan of snail mail (or glitter bombs), send mini invites in pink envelopes. Add heart stickers, a sprinkle of glitter (because you’re chaotic but in a cute way), and let your friends know this is not your average Tuesday – it’s their day to shine.
Celebrate the Real MVPP’s (most valued party people)
At its core, Galentine’s Day is about celebrating the women who keep you sane, hype you up, and remind you to never settle for less than you deserve. Whether you’re single, taken, or somewhere in between, gathering your gals for a day of laughter, love, and sugar overload is what it’s all about.
So, throw on your fanciest outfit, pour yourself a cup of tea (or bubbly), and bask in the glory of female friendship. After all, you’re not just celebrating them – you’re celebrating you, queen. 💕 Cheers to love, laughter, and sandwiches shaped like hearts. Happy Galentine’s Day!
