A Sweet Thanksgiving Morning Tradition - Raspberry Jam and Secret Cranberry Sauce

From Mom’s Kitchen to Yours

If there’s one thing our family never—like ever—skips on Thanksgiving morning, it’s croissants dripping with homemade raspberry jam and a pot of cranberry-raspberry sauce simmering on the stove. The whole house smells like warm sugar, vanilla hugs, and “don’t talk to me until I’ve had my first bite.”

These recipes are the heartbeats of our holidays. They’re messy, sugary, syrupy, lick-the-spoon good. And yes… they’re loaded with sugar & love—but it’s once a year, so grab the croissants and let’s live a little.

Below are the two official family treasures:
Emma’s Favorite Raspberry Jam
Our Signature Cran-Raspberry Sauce with White Wine & Honey

You’re gonna want to save these.

🍇 Emma’s Favorite Homemade Raspberry Jam

"The one mom has been making since forever."

Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh raspberries (or frozen, thawed). We always use fresh.
  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 packet fruit pectin (to thicken)

Instructions

  1. Smash the raspberries
Toss them in a big pot and mash gently with a fork or potato masher. A few chunky bits are totally perfect.
  2. Add the sugar + vanilla
Pour in all that glorious sugar (don’t look at it, just trust the holiday magic) and add the vanilla. Stir to combine.
  3. Boil it into happiness
Bring the mixture to a full rolling boil—like the “nope, can’t stir it down” kind—for 1 minute.
  4. Add the pectin
Stir in your pectin, reduce the heat slightly, and cook for another 3–4 minutes until it thickens into glossy ruby jam.
  5. Cool & jar it
Let it cool slightly, spoon into jars, and try not to eat half of it warm with a spoon.

Pairs best with:
Fresh croissants or even over ice cream
Your favorite biscuits
A quiet moment before the chaos begins

🍊 Our Family’s Cranberry-Raspberry Sauce with White Wine & Honey

“Thanksgiving in a pot.”

Ingredients

  • 1 bag (12 oz) fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup fresh raspberries
  • 1/2 cup white wine (a dry one is perfect)
  • Juice of 1 orange
  • Zest + slices from the same orange
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tablespoon honey (just a lil’ pimp of sweetness )
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Start with the wine + citrus
In a medium pot, combine the white wine, orange juice, and orange slices. Simmer over medium heat for 2 minutes until it smells like pure holiday cheer.
  2. Add the cranberries & raspberries
Toss them in and listen for the cranberries to start popping—it’s the official sound of Thanksgiving in our house.
  3. Sweeten it up
Add in the brown sugar, honey, and vanilla. Stir well and bring everything to a gentle boil.
  4. Let the magic happen
Reduce the heat and simmer 10–15 minutes until thick, glossy, and jammy. Taste it. Sigh. Taste it again. Stir again just for fun.
  5. Cool it down
It’ll thicken as it cools—perfect for spooning over turkey, croissants, waffles, or honestly… just eat it warm with a fork.

·         Pairs best with:
Thanksgiving turkey
Brie + crackers
Leftover turkey sandwiches
A sneaky midnight spoonful straight from the fridge over ice cream.

A Little Note From Our Table to Yours

These recipes carry decades of love in them—holidays where we gathered sleepy-eyed in pajamas, laughing, tasting, spreading jam on warm croissants before any of the “grown-up” stuff started.

Make these once a year. Make them with too much sugar. Make them with joy.
Because food memories are family memories.

Happy Thanksgiving, friend.
