For Brittney, it’s her forever go-to meal for her daughter — because no matter what else life throws at you, a warm, creamy bowl of cheesy pasta just feels like home. Over the years, she’s perfected a few different spins, each one just a little more crave-worthy than the last. Today, we're sharing five of her favorite ways to make mac and cheese that'll have your whole family asking for seconds (and thirds).

Get ready to stir up some love!

1. Classic Creamy Mac & Cheese (With Sour Cream and Cream Cheese)

This version is extra creamy and just a little tangy — pure comfort in a bowl.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

  1. Cook macaroni according to package instructions; drain.
  2. In the same pot, melt butter over low heat.
  3. Stir in cream cheese and milk until smooth.
  4. Add cheddar cheese, stirring until melted.
  5. Fold in the sour cream and pasta. Season to taste.
  6. Serve gooey and glorious!

2. Swiss Cheese & Bacon Mac

Savory, creamy, and a little smoky, this mac feels extra special without extra effort.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound cavatappi pasta
  • 1 ½ cups shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 4 slices thick-cut bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1/2 cup whole milk

Directions:

  1. Cook pasta; set aside.
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter, whisk in flour, and cook for 1 minute.
  3. Gradually whisk in milk and cream, cooking until thickened.
  4. Stir in Swiss cheese until melty.
  5. Toss in the cooked pasta and bacon bits.

3. Traditional Cheddar Mac & Cheese

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound elbow pasta
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard powder (optional but amazing!)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

  1. Cook pasta; set aside.
  2. Melt butter in a saucepan, whisk in flour, and cook until golden.
  3. Slowly add milk, whisking constantly, until thickened.
  4. Stir in cheddar cheese and mustard powder.
  5. Mix pasta into the sauce, season, and serve with a happy heart.

4. Lobster Mac & Cheese (With a Fancy Cheese Twist)

When you want mac and cheese and to feel a little bougie.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound elbow macaroni
  • 8 oz cooked lobster meat, chopped
  • 1 cup Gruyère cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup Fontina cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning

Directions:

  1. Cook pasta; drain and set aside.
  2. In a large pot, melt butter, add cream, and simmer gently.
  3. Stir in Gruyère and Fontina cheeses until smooth.
  4. Add lobster meat and Old Bay, stirring gently.
  5. Fold in pasta and let every shell get kissed by that rich, buttery sauce.

5. White Truffle Mac & Cheese (For When You’re Feeling Extra)

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound shell pasta
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1/2 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon white truffle oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

  1. Cook pasta; drain and set aside.
  2. In a pot, heat cream and mascarpone until melted.
  3. Stir in mozzarella and Parmesan, cooking until silky.
  4. Remove from heat and drizzle in white truffle oil.
  5. Toss pasta in the sauce, season, and prepare to be obsessed.
